Solar Energy example / Ejemplo de energía solar

One of the things I want to do is have a better knowledge about solar energy and invents that work with solar energy. I have been surfing on the Internet and I found following video. A retired engineer is using solar energy for his car, his tractor and his chainsaw. Going forward he explain how he does it and he show us the power of every machine. Definitely it makes me wonder why there is no commercialized cars and other machines apart from solar calculators... I think all of us know the reasons why, economical interests because of oil.

Una de los temas en los que quiero profundizar es la energía solar y los inventos que funcionan con esta energía. He estado buscando en internet y he encontrado el siguiente video (inglés).

Niger

I have been surfing on the Internet and I have found something really disgusting. Niger is a country in Africa where companies as SHELL are spilling toxic wastes as oil and other chemicals.
The delta of Niger river is already polluted in quantities that we can consider extremely dangerous. There are places where plants cannot grow anymore and animals and humans are affected. Life expectancy has been reduce in around 30 years. Cases of cancer have increased and children born with deformities.
Here you can find a link where you can check an oil spot spilled by Shell. Of course Shell say that they are not the responsible of this and they refuse to clean the zone.
Shell oil spot
Experts say that this area would take around 25 to 30 years to be cleaned and the initial cost would be 1 million USD.
Just judge yourself.

Plastic recycling video

Dear readers,

I have found a video that might inspire us to go in the correct direction for plastic recycling. Mike Biddle is talking about several things that not so many people talks about when we talk about plastics.
Maybe because petrol companies have hidden interests on that industry that moves billions of usd.
What would you think if I tell you that we can get same plastic from used plastic than the same we get from oil and other chemicals?

The answer in following link: We can recycle plastic
